    Home Lactation Visits

Milk It Lactation Services offers in-home lactation consultations in Albuquerque and surrounding communities, providing personalized breastfeeding support where families feel most comfortable. Home visits allow us to work together in your natural feeding environment while addressing your specific questions, concerns, and goals.

During your visit, we will complete a full feeding assessment, observe a breastfeeding or pumping session, and evaluate factors that may be affecting feeding, milk supply, comfort, or infant weight gain. We will discuss your concerns, answer questions, and create an individualized care plan designed to support you and your baby’s feeding goals.

Many families find home visits especially helpful in the early postpartum period or when leaving the house feels overwhelming. In-home care allows for relaxed, hands-on guidance and practical support tailored to your baby, your home environment, and your family’s routine.

Using your computer, phone, or tablet, we connect through secure video conferencing. During the visit we can observe a feeding session, review pumping techniques, and discuss strategies to help address common lactation challenges.

    • Pumping questions and flange fitting guidance
    • Bottle feeding and paced feeding techniques

When In-Person Care May Be Helpful

Virtual consultations are highly effective for many lactation concerns. In some situations, an in-person visit may offer additional support, such as when an infant weight check, detailed oral evaluation, or hands-on positioning assistance would be beneficial.

If we believe an in-person assessment may further support your goals, we will discuss this with you and help guide you toward the best next step for your family.

Milk It Lactation Services offers specialized support for babies under four months of age who are experiencing difficulty with bottle feeding or bottle refusal. These visits focus on helping babies develop effective bottle feeding skills through guided practice, suck training exercises, and supportive feeding techniques.

Some babies need additional time and practice to coordinate their suck, swallow, and breathing patterns during bottle feeding. This service is designed to support both babies and caregivers while building the skills needed for successful bottle feeding.

    • Understanding common reasons for bottle refusal
