In-network-Insurance Policy?

What is your fee for twins or multiples?
Additional fee for twins or multiples: $80 for each additional baby.

What if I have abnormal vital signs?
If you or your baby have vital signs outside of normal postpartum or newborn range it is strongly recommended you or your baby go to the urgent care or OB Triage. In an emergency I will call 911. The safety and health of you and your baby are the first priority.

What is your travel fee?
A $50-$100 travel fee may apply if you live outside the Albuquerque service area or more than 20 miles from the 87114 zip code. Please call 505-305-5360 to confirm travel to your area before booking.
Travel fees are not eligible for insurance reimbursement. Virtual visits are offered as an alternative.

Do I need follow up after my initial visit?
Some patients do well after one visit. For the first 48 hours after your initial visit I can answer 1-2 secure messages to clarify anything in your care plan.
A follow up appointment is recommended for additional support beyond the initial visits.

What is your Cancellation Policy?
Cancellations made 48 hours or less before a scheduled appointment will be charged a $75 cancellation fee. The Fee will be applied to the credit card on file. You can reschedule 1 time 24 hours before your appointment with no fee. If the rescheduled appointment is canceled the $75 cancellation fee will be applied to the credit card on file. If you request a same day or next day appointment and need to reschedule or cancel the a $75 fee will apply.

Do you replace my doctor or pediatrician ?
No. We work collaboratively with your OB/ midwife, pediatrician, and other health providers to provide additional education, early intervention postpartum and, newborn care.
With your permission I can send all clinical documentation and care plans via secure messaging to both parent and babies primary care provider. Im happy to work on your lactation goals as a team member along with your provider!

The Lactation Network (TLN)?
Milk it is contract with The Lactation Network (TLN) please click hereand have your insurance verified. You will be asked to upload a photo of the front and back of your insurance card. TLN takes most Blue Cross Blue Shield (PPO), Anthem (PPO), and insurance plans with the MultiPlan logo.
After getting your approval email make an appointment under The Lactation Network section.
There is no co pay or out of pocket cost once approved for visits. Travle fees may apply if you live outside the service area.

Out- Of- Network Insurance Policy?
We are considered out- of- network for most insurance plans.
Ask your insurance company about a prior-authorization and we are happy to send it in for you.
We can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. We cannot guarantee any claim outcome and we will not submit an appeal.
Under the Affordable Care Act, most plans are entitled to lactation services reimbursement. We cannot guarantee any claim outcome and we will not submit an appeal. You can also contact the National Women’s Law Center for assistance understanding your rights to care.
